As a licensed therapist in New York and Connecticut, my priority is creating an emotionally safe environment for my clients that fosters trust and acceptance. The therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in determining the success of therapy. When a client feels emotionally safe, they are able to be vulnerable and share their deepest feelings and concerns. This allows us to collaborate and dive deeply into your goals to generate a positive therapeutic outcome. It is my priority to also create a space that is inclusive of all individuals, and to utilize an anti-oppressive framework that fosters an emotionally safe space of non-judgement, warmth, and understanding. I have a genuine curiosity about my clients and love to get to know them on a deep level.

In your 20’s and 30’s there are so many questions that are unanswered, or you might feel the need to figure out. Whether it be to find a career you’re passionate about and successful in, establish steady romantic and platonic relationships or develop new hobbies, this uncertainty may create a lot of stress in your life. For this reason, you may be struggling with feelings of not being good enough, which results in a sense of hopelessness, confusion and frustration about life and what it should be. You may strive to be a part of something bigger and constantly compare yourself to others in order to see how you match up. Or, you might be struggling with feeling like you have to conform to the expectations and pressures of how to really succeed and be happy in order to be accepted into society. Oftentimes we receive messages in our childhood, from family and friends, and social media that it is important to be accepted, but can simultaneously struggle with feelings of loneliness, inadequacy, and disarray that arise from trying to achieve it.

I received my Master’s in Social Work from Fordham University and have had the privilege of working with people with a wide variety of anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, low self-esteem, and interpersonal problems. I also specialize in body image, disordered eating relative to guilt and shame associated with food, and eating disorders. I particularly enjoy helping people with perfectionism, excessive worrying, low self-esteem, and obsessive compulsive disorder. I also love to work with adolescents, young adults, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented with the use of specific evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Mindfulness.

It is truly a privilege to help my clients heal and regain a deeper understanding of themselves. I would love the opportunity to build this type of relationship with you and work together to support you in creating impactful change in your life. Wherever you are on your journey, we can navigate it together.
