At FGP we strongly believe that racism, violence, and discrimination have no place in our society. Every single person, regardless of their race, origin, background, or orientation, has the right to feel safe, seen, and heard. We are outraged by the senseless killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Rayshard Brooks, and the uncountable victims of racial crimes across our country since its beginnings. Systematic racism is real and has been persistent for too long, we at FGP condemn all forms of discrimination and violence against people of color. We also recognize that racism cannot be just wished away, but each one of us has to consciously act to fight it in order to create a more tolerant, equal, safe, and peaceful world. With this in mind, we as therapists are more than ever committed to values of social justice, equality, respect and compassion in our personal and professional lives. It is our mandate to continue to support the well-being and health of our diverse community in a culturally sensitive manner.
“In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist. We must be anti-racist.”
Angela Davis
