CBT Workshop for Therapists: Eating Disorders
The Feeling Good Center of NY is pleased to offer this three-hour workshop presented by Donna Fish.
Many of our patients (almost 90% of the female population) have disordered eating that can create distress, an over-preoccupation with food, increased isolation and depression. Often therapists work with individuals who may struggle with eating issues, disordered eating, and/ or full blown eating disorders. The last category may be more easily detected and is often referred out. This workshop will aim to offer therapists a map to begin to do the work with patients, set up the treatment plan and continue to assess whether at any point, referring out l is necessary This workshop is geared to professionals of all levels whether you have had extensive training in eating disorders, or none. While some of the focus will be on the psycho-education and CBT skills for assessment and beginning intervention, cutting edge Team CBT skills will be taught to skillfully meet common resistances, and help therapists develop Fall Back positions to manage these potentially dangerous mental disorders. Additionally, Team CBT skills to help therapists assess and treat the co-morbid anxiety and depression will be taught, along with the skills to address the eating behavior habits. Goals of the Workshop:
The workshop will take place at our office at 160 Broadway, Suite 1204. The office is big, but not that big, so there is a hard stop at 14 participants! Who Is This Training For: Like-minded therapists (psychiatrists, psychologists, LCSWs, Psy-RN/PNPs, LMFTs, LMHCs, school counselors) of all levels who want to advance their clinical skills, as well as to graduate students. |
